STATUS: Completed

PROJECT SUMMARY:

Following the vandalism of the bypass line connected to the Line Break Valve (LBV) on the 14-inch x 17km Alakiri–Onne Gas Pipeline, Dieva Roka was engaged to carry out emergency patch-weld and replacement works to restore the integrity and safe operation of the pipeline system.
The scope of work involved emergency repair and restoration activities on the affected bypass line section to prevent product loss, restore pipeline integrity, and ensure the safe return of the facility to service. The project was executed by qualified personnel using appropriate equipment and in strict compliance with approved safety and engineering standards.
Dieva Roka completed the emergency repair works in line with the client’s operational objectives and industry best practices.

SCOPE OF WORK:

EMERGENCY PATCH WELDING AND REPLACEMENT WORKS

  • Identification and assessment of the vandalized/damaged section of the bypass line
  • Isolation of the affected pipeline section in accordance with approved safety procedures.
  • Surface preparation of the damaged area(cleaning, grinding, beveling).
  • Execution of patch welding on minor defects using approved WPS (Welding Procedure Specification)
  • Fabrication and installation of replacement pipe spool to match existing 14inch pipeline specifications.
  • Alignment and fit-up of replacement sections before welding.
  • Welding of joints using qualified welders in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Visual inspection, liquid penetrant test, and radiography test after welding.

REPAIR OF DAMAGED TEE AND FLANGE ASSEMBLIES

  • Isolation and securing of the vandalized pipeline section
  • Removal of damaged tee fittings and flange assemblies
  • Preparation of pipe ends for installation of new components
  • Installation of new tee fittings and flange assemblies in line with design specifications.
  • Proper alignment, welding, bolting, and torqueing of flange connections
  • Replacement of gaskets and fasteners with approved materials.
  • Verification of dimensional accuracy and proper fit-up before final tightening.

TESTING AND INSPECTION

  • Conduct of visual inspection on all completed welds and installed components.
  • Performance of the leak test on the repaired carbon steel pipeline section
  • Monitoring for pressure drop and checking for any signs of leakage at weld joints, flanges and fittings.

SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE

  • All activities executed in compliance with safety procedures and the permit-to-work system
  • Use of appropriate PPE for all personnel
  • Adherence to relevant industry standard
  • Continuous monitoring to prevent hazards and ensure safe working conditions

COMMISSIONING AND DEMOBILIZATION

  • commissioning of installed systems, painting and corrosion protection, site restoration, back-loading of equipment and materials, and demobilization of personnel, equipment, and resources from the site.

02) PROJECT NAME:
